2023, my first full year here comes to an end, so here's an overview of it. (spoiler: a lot happened)
My first submission of the year was this one, featuring all of my characters (at the time):
..Okay, it wasn't my first submission of the year. The true first one was a reference sheet of Ben, but it's been since deleted, so this is my earliest submission from this year still up.
This year also saw my first cartoon, The Apple.
A little fun fact about it: When I made it, I didn't make the scenes separately, I did it all in a big mush of layers. Was pretty hard to work with.
This year I also discovered one of my favorite threads in the forums: the OC Plaza!
I drew tens of characters on that thread. So much so, that I have a collection of them!
I also did a handful of art trades, received some, or just drew requests.
This year also saw the creation of many characters, most notably Daklil.
I don't know about you, but the thing I remember this year for the most is the lots of experimentation I did.
This year I experimented with lots of stuff, from using Flash for art, to thick outlines, to plush toys, to cel animation, to watercolor paintings, to full on claymation cartoon.
I also participated in collabs, like the Friendly Frog Collab, the Creature Collab, the 1-Bit Artapalooza - Spooky Edition, the Snowman Collab, and the yet to be released NGTV Christmas collab and The 2023 Sketch Collab.
I also started a comic book series featuring Naomi and Ben, but discontinued after a while. I now work on a renewed version.
I created 9 movies this year; 6 of them being standalone movies (not collabs/part of collabs) + two scrapped ones.
This year I published 160 art submissions. Even more if you count all the deleted ones.
Despite all of this stuff happening this year, I never got a standalone frontpage or anything, but I don't really care about it.
This year had a lot going on to it. If I had to choose a highlight from this year, I would've struggled to choose only one.
I hope you enjoyed this unorganized pile of words.
